Fine-Tune Your Dental X-rays with Contrast & Brightness Tools
Dental X-rays can vary in exposure depending on the patient, sensor, or machine settings. To help you get the clearest view possible, Xrays.Dental includes tools to adjust contrast and brightness instantly within the Imaging Workspace.
These tools enhance image clarity, highlight critical areas, and make diagnostic decisions easier.
Contrast controls the difference between light and dark areas of the X-ray. Increasing contrast can help highlight subtle details like fractures, caries, or bone loss.
Open the patient’s X-ray in the Imaging Workspace
Look to the right-side toolbar
Click the “Contrast” icon
Use the Contrast slider to increase or decrease contrast
✅ Tip: Increase contrast for viewing root canals or periapical infections.
Brightness controls the overall lightness of the image. It can help if the X-ray appears too dark or overexposed.
In the Imaging Workspace, click the “Brighten” icon
Move the Brightness slider left or right (usually a sun or filter symbol)
View real-time changes and stop when satisfied
✅ Tip: Lower brightness to spot soft tissue shadows; raise it to check restorations.
If you over-adjust the image or want to start over:
Click the “Reset” button in the toolbar
The image will revert to its original settings
Clear visuals mean better diagnostics. With just a few clicks, you can fine-tune images for:
Improved visibility of hard-to-see areas
Patient explanations during consultation
Accurate treatment planning
