Securely Manage Dental Files — Delete or Replace as Needed
Need to remove outdated X-rays or replace incorrect uploads? With Xrays.Dental, you can easily delete or replace files — all while keeping your patient records accurate and organized.
🛠️ Accidentally uploaded the wrong DICOM, JPG, or CBCT file
🆕 Have an updated scan you want to use instead
🗂️ Want to clean up old, irrelevant, or duplicate images
Go to the Patient Profile.
Click on the image or file you want to delete.
Select Delete from the options menu (three dots ⋮).
Confirm the deletion.
⚠️ Note: Deleting is permanent. Make sure you have a backup before deleting important files.
There’s no “overwrite” button — but you can replace a file by:
Deleting the incorrect or outdated file.
Uploading the correct version under the same patient profile.
Optionally, add a note or tag explaining the replacement (e.g., “retake,” “updated scan”).

🔒 Only allow authorized users to delete files — set role-based permissions in Settings
Yes. Only users with permission can delete or upload files. All actions are logged for audit trails and compliance with HIPAA standards.
Instead of deleting files, consider tagging them as "Archived" — this keeps your records complete while hiding outdated scans from active views.
