Whether you're using a scanner from Medit, iTero, 3Shape, or Planmeca, our platform makes it easy to import, organize, and view 3D scans alongside your patients’ X-rays and clinical images.

 

What Is Intraoral Scanner Compatibility?

 

“Intraoral scanner compatibility” means that Xrays.Dental can accept scan files (like STL, PLY, or OBJ) generated by your scanner and let you view or attach them to a patient’s record. You won’t need extra software to review or store digital impressions.

 

Supported File Types:

 

• STL (Standard Tessellation Language)

• PLY (Polygon File Format)

• OBJ (Object File Format)

These formats are standard for 3D dental scans and can be uploaded directly.

How to Upload a Scan

1. Go to the Patient Profile

2. Click on “Upload Scan” in the imaging section

3. Drag & drop or browse to select your scan file (STL, PLY, OBJ)

4. Once uploaded, the scan appears in the patient’s 3D Viewer section

 

Viewing Scans in 3D

 

Xrays.Dental includes a built-in 3D viewer to rotate, zoom, and analyze intraoral scans. You can compare them with 2D X-rays for comprehensive treatment planning.

💡 Tip:
